In one of my peer-to-peer discussions with a coaching colleague, he explained to me his approach in his masterclass: After each participant had presented his business idea and his wishes for the next steps, my colleague convinced each founder that with all his contacts to other founders, service providers, business angels and VCs, he was already a small network captain in his own right.
He then asked them to think about the wishes of their classmates and to write down suitable contacts for them on a list below their names. After 30 minutes, the list burst with the names of useful contacts for each of them!
Suddenly I had the right word to describe this process: Guided Serendipity.
This, by the way, is exactly the method that all co-working hubs are built around: meeting other startups at the coffee machine or at community events, talking about their gains and pains, and suddenly having a good idea of how and by whom they could alleviate their pains…
I am pretty sure that this method, embedded in masterclasses with different startups, will find its way to fruitful lead generation on a win-win basis. Go for it!
