Aspen Institute: German-Indian Relations
Together with the Ananta Aspen Centre, we cordially invite you to an
Ambassadors‘ Talk „Indian-German Relations“ with H.E. Parvathaneni Harish and H.E. Philipp Ackermann Despite challenges, political and economic engagement between India and Germany has increased steadily over the past decades, with Germany becoming one of India’s key trading partners in Europe. Likewise, Germany relies on cooperations encompassing trade, technology, education, and defense. With recent geopolitical developments following Russia’s War in Ukraine, Germany’s alignment to the United States, and the expansion of BRICS, the two nations find themselves on opposite ends of a global order struggle despite shared interests and interdependencies. What challenges and opportunities are presented by these partnerships for both countries? Considering individual and shared interests, how could Germany and India cooperate on sanctions and diplomatic efforts to address the crisis? How do Indian and German views differ on the role of multilateral institutions like the United Nations and the World Trade Organization? How can both countries navigate geopolitical challenges while continuing to deepen their partnership? We will discuss these and more questions with our honorable guests. The discussion will be moderated by Indrani Bagchi, CEO of the Ananta Aspen Centre. Our audience will have the chance to ask questions. To register, please click here. We look forward to the discussion! Dr. Stormy Mildner Executive Director Aspen Institute Germany
