Roundtable Discussion
on the topic “AI, Future, Work: Implications of the Rise of AI for Labor and Education” with Research Group Lead, Management Board, Senior Lead Manager, Public Policy and Economic Graph, T.B.A. Government/ Politics Representative moderated by Executive Director, The launch of ChatGPT and its increasingly uncontrolled usage in schools and higher education institutions has sparked a debate about the influence of AI-powered chatbots on the education system. New analyses present drastic forecasts regarding the elimination of a significant number of jobs. The strike by Hollywood screenwriters, actors, and voice actors in July 2023, who fear being displaced by AI, among other concerns, highlights an industry that is acutely threatened by upheavals. It is clear: the rapid development of AI already has far-reaching impacts on our work and education systems. The event focuses on the challenges and opportunities arising from the increasing use of AI in the education system and various industries. The event is part of the “AITech Dialogues: AI for Sustainable and Just Societies” series of in-person discussion events that Aspen Germany is hosting in cooperation with Microsoft Berlin to address existing and emerging AI technologies, particularly with regard to ethical considerations of their impact and the governance required.
