DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nThe Aspen Institute Germany and the Federal State Representation of Baden-Württemberg are pleased to announce that the fourth annual high-level Aspen Berlin Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI) entitledHumanity Empowered: Building Resilience with AI\nIn hindsight, the COVID-19 pandemic has catalyzed political discussions on key issues ranging from technological sovereignty and communication infrastructures to the faster digital transformation of public services, businesses, work, and education. But as countries work to transition out of this pandemic however, a key questions is how prepared they are for the next crisis? Can the current political momentum, which was fueled by painful and costly lessons learned, be sustained? Building resilience is more than reacting to crises quickly but should mean the ability to use crises to transform societies and to make these more crisis-resistant for the future.\nThis conference will dive deeper into the question of how we can make our societies more resilient. How can resilience of complex socio-technical and socio-economic systems – also across borders – be supported? And what role can artificial intelligence play in this?\nDuring this Aspen Berlin AI Conference, you will have the opportunity to engage with top policymakers, innovators, philosophers, academics, and representatives from business, media, and civil society on these pressing questions. We will come together in hybrid discussion formats, including spotlight talks, high-level conversations, panel discussions, and seminars, over the course of 2 days.
